Is it hemorrhoids or something else?

Mounds View

I had a baby 3 months ago, and for a while afterwards every BM I had was extremely painful. It was like I had thousands of shards of broken glass in my stools. I eat pretty dang healthy (only have meat three times a week, lots of fiber and water, tons of different colored fruits and veggies, I get pizza on Fridays but that's about the only real vice, and I know it's not a protein issue because I get lots of vegetarian protein from seafood and certain plants and grains), and it slowly got better but never entirely went away. Now it hurts moderately, even though my stools are a really ideal texture, and I am constantly itchy and sore down there. It stings a ton when I urinate, as the urine drips down there, and I use a squirt bottle with warm water to clean myself afterwards, and that stings like crazy, too! I had my boyfriend take a look, and he says there's a little white "loop of skin" towards the top of my anus (What he meant by "loop" is it's a half-circle shape, it doesn't actually disconnect from the rest of my skin at any part), but other than that everything looks as normal as he can tell. From what I know about hemorrhoids, they're usually a purple-ish color, and if they're painful then they're visible, and they usually look kind of like tiny grapes or cushions. This doesn't seem like it looks like hemorrhoids. There's a ton of bright red blood whenever I have a BM too, to the point where whenever I wipe all I can see is blood, and sometimes I have to wipe several times to get it all.I'm fairly certain I don't need to change my diet, and I've never had anything like this before (when my diet was poor a few years ago, I had IBS symptoms, but they went away when I got pregnant and did a complete dietary overhaul), and I have been doing all the typical hemorrhoids treatments like the squirt bottle and sitting in a bath... any suggestions as to what else it might be, and how I can get rid of it, would be awesome, thank you!

Internal hemorrhoids? doctor necessary?

Dodge Center

yesterday when i wiped after passing a stool, there was some bright red blood on the tissue paper. Since then, it has not been bloody, but the inside is a little itchy. I'm pretty sure it is hemorrhoids, though it doesn't hurt at all.Are hemorrhoids reoccurring? for instance, once you get them, are you doomed for life? like herpes? Should i see a doctor or should i wait it out for a while?I bought some of that "Rue's Care Oil" natural hemorrhoid treatment so hopefully that will work. Also, there is no big one that comes out, and it isn't painful to pass stools yet, though i am careful of pushing hard cause i don't want to irritate it if it is one.

Sunset

eat fibers enriched foods like vegetables, fruits, oatmeals, wheat and others. If symptoms persist, consult a surgeon

Vail

Go see a doctor.

Is it a hemorrhoid? i know its gross but i want a serious answer?

Lake Villa

I've had it for almost a year now and I'm starting to get really annoyed by it. I never really had a problem until now but it itches like hell every second of the day, I have bloody bowel movements, but it doesn't hurt much unless it's touched. I've tried witch hazel and vaseline, different hemorrhoid creams, and every home remedy on the internet. Nothing works. I really don't want to go to a doctor because I can't stand the idea of having someone analyze my butt. All of the symtoms seem like a hemorrhoid but it looks like a swollen vein (which I understand is what hemorrhoid is) it's doughnut shaped and stings when it's touched and the rest of the sphinctor is hard, swollen, and has a purple-ish tint. I just don't know if it's a hemorrhoid because most pictures of hemorrhoids are like round pollyps. I don't know :/ should I suck it up and see a doctor or is there a treatment I haven't tried?( I've tried the Sitz bath, an assortment of creams, the witch hazel thing, eating more fiber, fruits, and water, and countless other things that fail to have an effect )

Burton

It is probably a hemorrhoid. The biofavonoid Rutin is supposed to be a cure.

Dixon

Hemorrhoids will not resolve on its own over time. It is embarrassing to have hemorrhoids. The best thing for you to do is clean your digestive system to help you remove the risk of having constipation. Eat foods that are rich in dietary fiber and drink plenty of water. Exercise also helps. You do something about it before it get worse. The best treatment for hemorrhoids is the natural way. Cheers

McColl

I think you should see a doctor because they see it all the time... really they do. There is nothing special or hilarious about your butt, trust me. Do you strain alot with bowel movements?I would ease up on the fiber, not take more of it. Your hemorrhoid could have a thrombus (blood clot) in it... and that isn't good.

Van Horn

It sounds like it is ,but go to a doctor just to be sure.

Is hemorrhoids fatal in dogs if not treated?

Lower Salem

My standard short haired chihuahua has what I think is hemorrhoids. What makes me think this is the fact that when I looked him over his anus was protruding out and looked swollen. I am no expert with hemorrhoids but this was my first guess. He has been having straining bowel movements. At first he had diarrhea all the time now he has solid fecal-matter which he struggles to push out. The pieces are broken apart and seem to be connected to a stand of hair every time. I am really sorry if this is TMI but my fiance and I have zip, zero, and zilch money to take him to the vet. So if this sounds like hemorrhoids what should I do to treat it? Are there any at home remedies? If not will he die because of no treatment? Any of you who have experience with your dogs and hemorrhoids I am looking for your answers. Thanks.

Minden

Dogs don't get hemorrhoids... they can get a prolapsed rectum... Go to the vet!Well..think about whats best for your dog...definately veterinary care..so if you can't afford it then surrender him to the humane society where he can have proper treatment. Its not fair to your dog just because you have no money.

Douglas

Yeah, not fair at all. But found out it wasn't prolapsed rectum. I was actually just "seeing things"...that's the way they put it. And I found a an animal hospital in Washington that does their business almost free. Thank goodness!

Wanatah

From what you've described it sounds like it could be a prolapsed rectum, and it needs veterinary attention. Your dog will be extremely uncomfortable and painful and you NEED to find a way to get the money and get him to the vet. Denying a suffering animal veterinary treatment is cruelty.

Ingram

Yes it is fatal and dogs don't get Hemorrhoids. They can either have a prolapsed rectum or uterus. Go to the VET.

Riverdale

If you live in the UK and you unemployed or on any benefits you can get free treatment for your dog. All you need is proof of your benefits. Even if it’s just reduced council tax you can apply to the PDSA or Dogs Trust for their help, however you should do this in advance of requesting an appointment. There are vets in other parts of the world who will agree to spread the payments, consequently you should telephone them and ask before you arrange an appointment. There is also an organization called Credit Care, Google Creditcare for dogs however this may not be available in the UK.

Is external hemorrhoids treatment painful?

Canastota

not very. but use the creams first.most of the time they freeze them. they will have bandages and it'll be annoying for a few days but no, it's not painful.Sometimes they put a wife around them and pass an electric current throu the wire. this cuts the oid off and cauterizes it (burns it) at the same time. you'll still need bandages for a few days and it'll be uncomfortable but not painful.

Fairfax

They aren't overly painful, but it might be more comfortable to try something gentler like creams and baths. Certain diets and exercises can also help, I've heard that this works for some people: .tinyurl.com/natural-hemorrhoid-tr…

Hopkins Park

Not usually. Have you tried warm sitz baths? I had to have my lanced so they would go away. The numb them first.

Verdel

omg. I have them stick out my butt right now and I need to go get Preparation H.
