It is definitely curable as my wife had hemorrhoids before and we managed to cure it. She used natural remedies, many that you can already do at home such as to drink more water and increase your fiber intakes to help soften your stool. Soaking yourself in warm water baths for about 15mins a day will also help. Other ointments that you can apply is coconut oil and using witch hazel does help alot.It often comes back but with proper diets and posture, you should be able to keep it at bay. Ok, this is a serious issue, mature responses only.I'm a 22 year old female who has suffered from occasional episodes of hemorrhoids for about two years. In the past year, it has happen over 3 times, and it's becoming a nuisance and embarrassment because I am sexually active. I've tried all OTC ointments, wipes, eating more fiber, sitz baths, with little results. I just want it to go away.So I scheduled an appointment with a gastroenterologist. I don't know if I'm wasting my time though, because my ideal treatment would be laser or some sort of immediate removal, and that's only the case with severe situations. Mine is only mild, but it persists for weeks and I just can't take it anymore.So my question is, what should I expect from this visit? I'm sure the doctor will take a look at it, but is the first visit always just a consultation? I'm leaving a week later for vacation, I want him to take care of this thing now!!!!

Oh God I remember my first time I had blood on the toilet paper I about had a panic attack and thought I was dying of butt cancer! I went to a doc,a butt doc called a proctologist. But a gastro dude will just have you lie on your side and put one knee way forward and the other one straight, kinda like how when getting a waxing if you have any hairs in the butt crack region. Oops too much info there!!!LOL Or he may have to have you scrunch up in a ball with your back on top so your butt and feet are in his face basically if he has to start any actual removal by laser etc. I have to tell you what he told me though, it's too funny not to share: He asked me if I had difficulties with pooping and I said no, but I do take fiber pills as a diet aid and have since I was 18.Well he told me my anus was way too small and actually said "You poop outta that tiny thing?"He drew a picture of how I could have a sphincterotomy if I ever felt the need, and the medical drawing had the anus already on the sheet and he just drew the places where he would cut to make my anus bigger!Oh MY GOD!!! I ended up telling this story to my co-workers to get a laugh and they did not believe me until I showed them the picture! Then I got the most hysterical laughs of my life. This was like 15 years ago, but I still keep the drawing in case no one believes my story!I told it to my husband and said "Here is why I will never have anal sex!!!" I'd need a sphincterotomy first, so forget it! I had to share that. I am only 14 and I have never, ever had hemorrhoids. About maybe 6 days ago I noticed a small pea-sized lump around my anus whole but it cause no pain and it did not itch, it was like it was not there. But, I had no idea what the heck it was, so being a stupid kid I pushed and picked at it. Then about 4 days later I now notice that all around my anus whole is swollen in like a purplish color. I know that these are external hemorrhoids. I have not told my mom as this is extremely embarrassing and I can never get her along. I have never had hemorrhoids before also so this is all new to me. They have caused no pain or discomfort whatsoever but I only know they're present from looking. I guess they're called external hemorrhoid piles. But I am now thinking that maybe this is normal... is it normal for you're anus hole to not be smooth and to be raised and stuff when it opens? Sorry if this is gross but please help me, I'm worried. I have heard of Hemclear and I want to buy it but it's very expensive. I am looking for a permanent treatment as I am 14 and should not have to be dealing with this. I have been drinking more water and adding more fiber to my diet but I want a permanent solution. **No surgery though!**Please help and thanks for reading.

It's nothing to stress over, so relax. First stop sitting so much, or reajusting your sitting often to take pressure off that spot, pillows or cushions will help greatly. Second, take warm baths daily, soak for about a half hour, little soap in the water, and gently clean the area, sitting with your knees bent up, laying back, taking the pressure of that area is important ( sitz bath), pat dry. You could be have reactions to certain foods, start keeping a log of what you eat and drink, if your mindful you'll see a pattern. But there's no need for special treatment, or to get worried, they'll come and go, it's just a matter of learning how to manage so they mostly go ( which can be permanent, if you take care). Try drinking prune juice or eating a few prunes before bed every night, it will help bowel movements be much easier, and slightly dampen T.P. to make wiping less abrasive.

Embarrassingly, I currently have an external hemorrhoid that has been out for about a week now. I've never had children & not sure why I began hvng them period. They started when I was 15 years old or so. But would only pop out every once in a while & go back in & were always small.
