Home treatment for thrombosed external hemorrhoid?

Senoia

Can I use a needle to lance/pop a thrombosed external hemorrhoid myself? Or will the emergency room doctor do it? I am out of town so can't see my family doctor and can't wait until I go home next week.

If you do it yourself, you are risking a lot. It isn't like a pimple that you can easily pop. They are very vascular and tend to bleed a lot. The ER is the place to start. They shouldn't "pop" it in the ER, unless they have something to tie it off with, band it, or cauterize it to stop the bleeding. They may just tell you to ice it or give you something for the pain. Then, when you get home, see your doctor to set up a time for the small surgical procedure. If you do decide to do it yourself, expect excessive blood loss, pain, and potential infection.

DO NOT TOUCH the hemorrhoid. If you wish to try a home treatment get some Rue Care Oil. It stops bleeding, itching, shrinks the hemorrhoids and strengthens the veins.
