Are there any natural treatment for hemorrhoids?

Guntersville

Homeopathic aesculus cream, hamamelis (witch hazel) or combination are good topical treatments. You can make your own wipes with cleansing pads soaked in witch hazel from the drug store. There are homeopathic remedies that will literally cause them to disappear, but it's best to see a professional Homeopath to find the right one. You probably have to do something about your diet so that you're not "straining" (this is the number one cause). There may be other problems contributing to this... you may need to take probiotics as well.

Treatments for HemorrhoidsAromatherapy: Soothe painful hemorrhoids with a good soak, suggests Judith Jackson, author of Scentual Touch: A personal Guide to Aromatherapy. She says to add 20 drops each of lavender and juniper essential oils to a hot, shallow bath, mixing the bathwater with your hand to make sure the oils are well-dispersed. Then soak for ten minutes, she says. You can also treat hemorrhoids with a topical ointment after each bath or bowel movement, adds Jackson. She suggests trying two drops of lavender and one drop of geranium essential oils blended with one ounce of carrier oil. Carrier oils are available in most health food stores.Food Therapy:A high-fiber diet is the key to preventing or treating hemorrhoids, says Michael A. Klaper, M.D., a nutritional medicine specialist in Pompano Beach, Florida, and director of the Institute of Nutritional Education and Research, an organization based in Manhattan Beach, California, that teaches doctors about nutrition and its relationship to disease.Dr. Klaper suggests trying to consume at least 30 grams fiber each day by eating at least five serving of fresh fruits and vegetables and more whole grains, beans and bran products. How to Stop Recurring Hemorrhoids;Bruce Yaffe, M.D, an internist and gastroenterologist in private practice, 121 E. 84 St., New York 10028Stay regular by consuming about 30 grams of dietary fiber and at least 48 ounces of water per day. Also helpful: Take an over-the-counter stool softener like colace or a bulking agent laxative such as Metamucil...don't strain or hold your breath while defecating...clean the rectum with moistened wipes instead of dry toilet paper...and soothe the area with zinc oxide paste, petroleum jelly, cold compress or an over-counter ointment such as Balneol.

Once you have hemerroids, you have them for life. A good idea would be to eat lots of vegetables, bread products, and/or another form of fiber.
