What is the difference in prostate pain amp hemorrhoids?
Groton
my husband had severe pain about 2 years ago and actually went to the hospital. At which they did x-rays that totaled over 10,000 dollars all to release him and say they were going to refer us to a urologist! wow!! Anyhow he saw the urologist who said he just had an enlarged prostate and the only treatment was to either just tolerate it or have surgery. Anyone know much about this? Does that diagnosis sound right. I ask because he has been having the same pain recently and we are trying to get pregnant, so I feel like he is double pressured and I don't want him to be stressed :(

I really, really doubt that many men would mistake one for the other. The prostate is deep within you, as any man who's had a digital rectal exam can tell you. Hemorrhoids are in the anus--basically at the doorway, to use an analogy The prostate is much further in, like the living room.As far as I know, an enlarged prostate by itself is not painful, but it can cause problems in urinating that are uncomfortable. Some types of prostatitis, on the other hand, are definitely painful. Prostatitis is a non-cancerous inflammation. There's other stuff in the area of the prostate that can be the culprit, too. The prostate is right up against the bladder and bowel. Gas bubbles, constipation, all could cause pain right in that region. There are other treatments for an enlarged prostate, by the way. Most men and their doctors would try a medication like Avodart way before surgery.Hopefully your husband is faithfully getting his PSA and DRE.Best wishes.

There are several different methods of solving prostate problems. Like the urologist said, you could have surgery. Personally, I would change your lifestyle around first and if that doesn't work, then get surgery. When I was having prostate problems I was told to eat healthier. You have to really watch what you eat and make sure you exercise daily. They also have these bars from .www.goprostect.com that have been known to work wonders. Good luck to whatever you choose to do!

get another option from another urologist and if diagnosed with an enlarge prostate then have the surgery done very simple which we doubt because he wouldn't have any control over his bladder and it doesn't cause pain if fit was enlarged.so get the second option and sue the hospital and the first urologist for making the wrong diagnosed

The prostate is more up inside the body and can be found by sticking a finger inside the rectum. To a walnut shape organ. If it is in large they often give or prescribe meds.Such as Flo max and a few others take them both. They cause a lot of lower back pain. Most times men have trouble getting up in the night and going often. Not sure if it would cause any of his sperm to be deform or not but they say it lowers the amount of seaman he produces. Yes they can do surgery however he will no longer have any seaman for the production of a child, he will be shooting blanks if any thing at all. You can look up prostate and get a lot of information. that would be your best bet and have plenty of question for the Doc when you see them. I just understand my case better than I can tell about it. I also have a cyst on my spine, blood clots in a leg along with tumor on my liver and to top it all off I have brain tumors.I'm just lucky right now to be this side of the flower bed.
