Remember what causes hemorrhoid flare ups? Right, bacteria. I have used this for years and it is an old remedy and, most importantly, IT WORKS!Take a cotton ball or a cotton pad and soak it in a solution of one tablespoon of regular Listerine to 2 tablespoons of water. "Tuck" it in just slightly to your rectum and leave it there for about 10 minutes. You can do this every 2 to 4 hours till the pain is gone. Buy yourself some moist wipes for the bathroom for a while. I have had 2 kids and did this while I was pregnant with them and it would usually take care of it in one dose, but if you still start to have some pain, you can do it several times through out the day. If it persists or more painful then call your doctor. Hope you find relief soon.
